Senior Cleric urges producing attractive religious content in cyberspace

Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi stated in a message to the Religion, Culture and New Media conference,” The officials must rethink the old ways of propagation in media in order to demonstrate a strong presence in the field of virtual media, in the way of producing attractive content without distortion and deviation.”

At the beginning, it is necessary to express my gratitude to the organizers and participants of this conference, which is named after religion, culture and new media, and I hope that with the efforts of all those who serve in the production and promotion of religious education and Islamic teachings, we will witness new media with original content.

The Holy Qur'an has a special, deep and precise view of preaching, in the verse on propagation, one of the duties of divine prophets is defined as preaching the religion, a way in which they fear not people but only God, and God will reward them; In this verse, the propagation of God's messages is not limited to a specific form, tool, and style, and therefore it will include expression, action, cyberspace, and everything through which the content can be communicated.

Human beings have always looked for the truth according to their nature and love the truth and submit to it on the condition that they learn the truth and distinguish it from falsehood, but in today's deceptive atmosphere in the cyberspace, distinguishing right from wrong and making it known is a very difficult task, therefore, all those who are familiar with media and are also concerned about religion, virtue, and ethics are expected to make the most of this opportunity; hence those in charge of affairs are also expected to rethink the old approaches in the media. They should reflect and strengthen the flow of religion and spirituality with a strong presence in the field of virtual media and try to produce attractive content without distortion and deviation. It goes without saying that such conferences can provide creative ideas and useful methods to media owners.
